We learned this fantastic method for analyzing astronomical images using ds9. Dr. Matilsky is a great teacher, he made the difficult topics fun and correctly showed how to solve the problems.

Learned a lot from an entertaining and energetic lecturer -- and a facinating look at DS9 image analysis. Quizes are tough, and often provide a workout on material not really covered by the lectures alone. -- keeps you on your toes.

Great course which explains rather complicated astronomical phenomena in an intuitive and comprehensive way. The teacher also explains himself very clearly and is able keep students engaged
