课程概述

In a recent Stack Overflow survey, Node.js was used by about 50% of the developers who answered the survey, making it the most used server-side technology. Express ranked as the fourth most popular web technology overall, making it the most popular server-side web framework. In this course, you will focus on Node.js and Express. Specifically, you will - develop applications using asynchronous callbacks and promises - create REST APIs and perform CRUD operations - implement authentication and session management Throughout the course, you will complete numerous hands-on labs to gain practical experience. At the end of the course, you will demonstrate your Node skills with a final project to build your portfolio. This course will help you succeed as a back-end or full-stack developer. It suits those in IT looking to step up in their careers or new graduates seeking to establish their server-side skills. This course suits those who need to manage cloud-centric projects. Most of the course is very good. But some parts contain errors or inconsistencies between description of the task and the required code. There are also some errors in the code.

Coming from the JavaScript Programming with React, Node & MongoDB specialization, this course is in part a repetition of concepts already seen (promise, async/await, npm). This is reducing the space for Node.js and Express (e.g. no SSR with template). For those disappointed by the "AI voice", in Module 4, Course Wrap Up, Thanks from the Course Team, see ... Narration. Furthermore tasks 10-13 of the final project are unclear, I suggest you to check the forum to better understand what is required.

This course is excellent! It explains concepts in great depth and provides a clear, comprehensive understanding of the topics. The instructor does a fantastic job of breaking down complex ideas, making them easy to grasp. Highly recommended for anyone looking to gain a solid foundation in this subject!

Great course with lots of useful examples that can be used for later projects. The time estimate for the labs was in my case way underestimated. for a "1 hour" course I needed at least 3 hours to go through all exercises. The "2 hour" final project took me 5 hours.

Great course content. Well designed for beginners to understand basic concepts. Some practical exercises could be more helpful, especially Promise and Axioz. I only got a little idea of that concepts. Anyhow, it is an excellent start for beginners.

I liked the final laboratory, it was a challenge for me, but many things were not as clear to me as the authentication code. Maybe adding small practices could be the best thing to consolidate the topics, suddenly I felt a lot of theory.

Topics covered were comprehensive and insightful. Final project could be made better (how about a crud api from scratch?). Also liked that it talked about best practices, just wish there were examples too. Thanks IBM and Coursera!

Super good for someone even with a very little knowledge on backend and node in general but if one doesn't go through the reading materials, things might get tough. Nevertheless the guided project were superb!

Everbody saying peer grading is not legit but in my view it is best way to become programmer. Getting practice of viewing others code is most valuable knowledge for becoming top programmer.

Excellent course to fully understand how to build express & nodejs servers. The only bad thing is that the url to test your server on the final project did not work for me...

It was great learning experience. But the content can be improved more advanced concepts and be added. So that one can directly apply for jobs after completing the course.

It was a great journey overall, few things were needed like more explanation and codelabs for middlewares (custom).

Good course, some bits are not so clear however the Tutors answer any questions so it's not a show stopper

It needs more actual hands-on practices and give clearer instructions in the final project.
