Great course.Good lecturers.Upgraded my skills on IAQ management. Kudos to Coursera.Kudos to Hong Kong School of Science and Technology
Course Overview: https://youtu.be/LLVb4FOn4uU
This course provides a basic knowledge of an emerging area – Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in buildings. Learners will realize the importance of maintaining proper IAQ. Characteristics associated with indoor air contaminants (IAC) are demonstrated, such as • Particulate matters (PM2.5, PM10) • Radon • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) • Asbestos • Bio-aerosols, and more Safe exposure levels, resulting health effects, measurement techniques, mitigate and control measures of these IAC are discussed. Other important areas related to IAQ such as building ventilation systems, indoor flow characteristics, sick building syndrome, and thermal comfort are also covered in this course.

first of all i would like to say thanks to the IAQ team and Coursera to avail this course. I learned much more informative things related to this course.
KC
Excellent course, very well delivered and very informative. I would love to see it expanded even to a 5 or 6 week course to go a bit more in depth on some of the topics.
RA
This course helped me a lot, especially in my chosen career. It helped me to understand air quality and how to apply proper ventilation. I enjoyed it!
PT
It was great experience studying this course, from this I got to know how much indoor air quality is important and what are the contaminant present.
CH
It's an informative course and suitable for beginners. I would highly recommend for those who are working in the green building or operation of building and looking for a very basic course.
DJ
This course was very helpful in my day-to-day job. It expanded my knowledge on issues that I was blind to. I highly recommend this course to anyone.

Great and concise presentation. Quizzes are really helpful. The final exam is a little bit difficult than the quizzes but it is not that to the extent of extremely difficult.
ST
Effective and worthy to give the time. Recommend for environmental scientist & engineer who require to know Indoor Air Quality
MS
For me, this course gave me new knowledge because I learned about air quality, types of diseases from the air, chemical compounds about the air, etc.
FV
It was an interesting glimpse of air-quality management world.Very helpful for everybody as most of contemporary societies spend the majority of their time in indoor ambients.

Received my nice certificates today. With this awareness, I bought a SHARP Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifier for my room. I also bought a formaldehyde & TVOC meter and with this meter identified some indoor air quality problem inside my car (petrol leaking increase the TVOC reading which need to send for car repair), and i also tested a CO detector for car exhaust. Now my confusion is on the ozone generation of from the Sharp Plasmacluster, whether is it dangerous to health, which i'm not sure because I don't have the air ozone meter. Thanks a lot.
I am satisfied with the quality of the information and the level of teaching on the course. I systematized the available knowledge and learned a lot of new and interesting information. I would like to receive information about possible courses available to continue training in this area.
Absolutely contain very useful information, specially for me that design DataCenters and server room, it helps me a lot for measurement, ventilation and controlling for cleanrooms.
Thanks a lot to the professors for these great information.
Learned a lot. The topics were well explained. The quizzes helped me in further clarifying what I have learned. Also there are discussion forums where you can discuss and learn a lot
A good, informative and compact course. Helped me to gain knowledge in this field. This course is good for mechanical engineers, architects, etc. Especially for HVAC engineers.

Excellent introduction to indoor air quality issues, the main pollutants, their sources and their measurement methods
very good introduction to the basic concepts of ventilation and IAQ parameter
The lectures are very informative. I don't mean to be rude or racist but the speaker(s) have an unfamiliar way of pronouncing words in my opinion. From the looks of it, they are just reading from a script. I suggest more interactions like sharing personal experiences as an engineer (I assume they are engineers) related to the lecture. Another suggestion is having an English speaker if the script is in English (assuming the lectures will be dictated by a script). Part of the learning is trying to decode what the speaker meant. Regardless, the whole experience is worth the time.
The "Introduction to Indoor Air Quality" course by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology via Coursera is an excellent learning experience. It provides well-structured content with clear explanations about key topics, such as air quality management, health impacts, and mitigation strategies. The video lectures are engaging and well-prepared, while the quizzes effectively test your understanding of the material. I found the practical examples and case studies particularly useful in applying theoretical concepts. This course is highly recommended for anyone interested in environmental health or seeking a foundational understanding of indoor air quality.
As a maintenance technician who works on air conditioning for my hotel, I wanted to learn more about our indoor air quality. Before I can start implementing changes I must learn about the fundamentals of IAQ. This was such a great free resource to get started. The pacing is great, the videos are to the point, the suggested readings are helpful, and the professors are well spoken. Highly recommend if you’re in facilities, hvac, or just want to improve your air at home!
Excellent course.
In this course I was able to learn all the elements that contribute to poor indoor air quality. In Brazil, since 2018, a law has come into force that requires greater attention in HVAC systems regarding the air that is delivered to the environments.
It was very important for me, because it added a lot of references to my daily work together with air conditioning systems and indoor air quality.
This course is really good as the Indoor Air Pollutants have been explained in a very understandable way . The additional readings mentioned are also very informative . On the top of it the teachers have conveyed their point wonderfully well . Thanks for this great learning !
This course explains about the importance of IAQ and its consequences, if it is neglected. It also gives knowledge about safety measures against different problems and equipment required for testing of IAQ and for better air circulation for different purposes.
The course met my expectations perfectly. Los docentes dominan la materia que explican, y se tocan diferentes puntos de IAQ, todos ellos aplicables al ámbito laboral, doméstico, comercial e incluso industrial. Highly recommended.
A fantastic training opportunity for researchers in the field of IAQ, ventilation flows, fluid mechanics of the built environment, and general building hygiene. I encourage building physics enthusiasts to enroll in this course.
