Is this course really 100% online? Do I need to attend any classes in person?

This course is completely online, so there’s no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your lectures, readings and assignments anytime and anywhere via the web or your mobile device.

Can I just enroll in a single course?

Yes! To get started, click the course card that interests you and enroll. You can enroll and complete the course to earn a shareable certificate. When you subscribe to a course that is part of a Specialization, you’re automatically subscribed to the full Specialization. Visit your learner dashboard to track your progress.

Is financial aid available?

Yes. In select learning programs, you can apply for financial aid or a scholarship if you can’t afford the enrollment fee. If fin aid or scholarship is available for your learning program selection, you’ll find a link to apply on the description page.

Can I take the course for free?

Basic knowledge of business and the food production industry is recommended, but not required.

While not required, it is recommended to complete the courses in the order in which they are listed in the Specialization, beginning with "Supply Chain of Agriculture" and ending with "Modern Issues in Food & Agriculture."

Yes! Although completion of the Specialization alone is not credit-bearing, the courses that comprise the Specialization are required components of a graduate-level Canvas course that can be "stacked" toward advanced credentials such as an academic (transcriptable) graduate certificate or a degree. If you decide to pursue further education, the credits you earn from this course can be applied toward a formal academic program, provided that you meet all the requirements of admission to the certificate or degree.

After completing this Specialization, you will be able to comprehensively evaluate the global agricultural supply chains and assess the factors driving food product demand in various economic environments. You will also be equipped to discuss trade policy complexities, make strategic decisions in agricultural risk management, analyze agriculture as an investment class, and evaluate the impact of environmental and agricultural policies on sustainability and ESG practices.
