Since I have always worked in startups I have had to wear multiple hats. I was reinventing the wheel again and again because I was working across multiple departments. This meant thinking of a solution for removing inefficiencies even if they were human resources related myself. So I came up with perfromance reviews but the learning would have been a lot faster if such tools are given to new managers at the beginning of their journey. I have learned to recommend courses already available to new managers. Also have a coaching culture so that the team also accepts the new manager easily instead of the manager focusing on performance only. Would have been great to receive a certificate as well.
