This course has significantly deepened my conceptual understanding of gender and sexuality. Key topics such as cisnormativity, heteronormativity, and social constructionism were explained in a clear and accessible manner. The examples and discussion prompts provided throughout the modules were both academically enriching and personally reflective. One minor critique would be that some quiz questions, due to their multiple-choice format, did not fully capture the complexity of the topics discussed. Nevertheless, the course maintains a coherent and thoughtful structure overall. I would recommend this course to anyone seeking to cultivate a critical, inclusive, and well-informed perspective on LGBTQ+ identities and experiences. Thank you. I loved this course, the instructors were great and the topics covered were interesting and appropriate. However, I struggled with required and optional reading in every week. I found broken links, material that was geo-blocked (I am in Canada) and articles behind paywalls. Also, some of the pop-up quizzes embedded in the videos were asynchronous, and popped up BEFORE the topics had been discussed by the instructors. I found these aspects to be very frustrating, as I wanted to be able to take advantage of all the resources. Finally, several of the questions were not identified as "choose all that apply", and as a result, I was given a "0" for only having chosen one option, which brought down my scores overall. So all told, good instructors and content, but poor platform user experience.
