During the project, I relied on an instructional video to design a website using WordPress. However, I quickly realized that the video was based on an older version of WordPress, while the platform’s current interface had undergone significant updates. These changes included relocated menus, renamed buttons, and the replacement of the Classic Editor with the Gutenberg Block Editor, which features a different layout and workflow. As a result, following the video step-by-step became confusing, especially for beginners unfamiliar with WordPress. This mismatch led to delays, potential mistakes, such as saving incorrectly or deleting the wrong content, and the need to search for alternative instructions online. From this experience, I learned the importance of keeping tutorial materials updated in line with platform changes, as well as providing supplementary guides or notes that explain key differences between versions. For future projects, I recommend creating updated video tutorials, including side-by-side screenshots of old and new interfaces, and offering tips to help new users navigate changes confidently.

I wanted to share some feedback on the "Build a Full Website Around a Blog Using WordPress" project I completed on Coursera. Overall, I found the course content to be informative and valuable in understanding how to create a website using WordPress. However, I encountered some challenges during the project due to the version of WordPress used by the instructor being outdated. As WordPress has undergone updates and changes in its style since then, I found it difficult to apply many of the techniques and lessons taught in the course to the current version of WordPress. I believe it would greatly benefit learners if the project could be updated to align with the latest version of WordPress and its design updates. This would ensure that students are equipped with the most relevant and up-to-date skills when building websites using WordPress. Thank you for considering my feedback. I appreciate the effort put into the course and look forward to seeing potential updates that may address these concerns.
